Week 15 - Thornwood

Last week Ash was enjoying his freedom as a single man. Roll-o-Rama reached rank 2 and caught fire. Ash developed a thing for younger women (teenagers) but he hasn't acted on it, yet. Sawyer proposed to his reoccurring date Mary Lou and asked her to move in right away.

Now that their family has grown, the Thornwoods needed a bigger place. They move away from the beach and build this sweet little 2 bedroom house closer to downtown. Its more convenient for Ash and Sawyer as they both own businesses.

You may have also noted the dog on the porch. This is Sandy. I think her bark is worse than her bite.

Sawyer sold the Roll-o-Rama to afford the new house. (And it was a crap business anyway.) This time he is going to try a Bowling Alley/Diner.

I'm pretty proud of this lot. I built it from scratch with some designs borrowed from other talented creators.

The sunken lanes was a great idea, I just forget who I stole it from. I really built this at least a month ago, maybe longer.

Sawyer will be making all his money off the diner, since people don't seem to want to pay to eat when they've already paid an entry fee.

He can't run the place by himself so he quickly hires some help. First up is Daisy Drava, a teen currently living at Margaret's House.

And the second new employee is the hugely pregnant Bryer Marsh. Can't raise a kid just on love after all.

Back at the house it felt like serendipity when Keegan walked by with Adonis.

Even better, the two dogs get along wonderfully right from the start. I don't even have to intervene to play match maker.

That was the shortest bout of illness in Sterling Falls so far.

So far the bowling alley seems to be doing better than the roller rink.

The girls are doing a wonderful job.

Ash spends a lot of time home alone with Mary Lou at work and Sawyer at the bowling alley. This leaves plenty of opportunity to invite Keegan and Christopher over for a visit with Adonis.

Sandy and Adonis quickly retreat to the dog house for some alone time.

It isn't long before other familiar faces start showing up. Everyone gets invited in.

I think what Christopher is trying to say is he'd like to adopt a child.

Sandy apparently only has doggy eyes for Adonis.

I swear he was muttering the whole time it took him to fill the hole back in.

Despite all the visitors, Ash is still a bit lonely. He invites Saskia Lowe over for a date.

She doesn't look it, but she is still pregnant with his child.

Speaking of pregnancy, looks like Mary Lou has been holding onto her own little secret.

Ash may be going gray, but by the look on his face that isn't going to slow him down.

The ladies certainly don't seem to mind.

Sandy gave birth to four darling pups.

Is it me, or is it weird that the pet's gestation period in my game is longer than that of the sims now? And puppies are puppies longer than babies are babies now too.

Not to be out done by Sandy, Mary Lou goes into labour.

Luckily I don't have the trips&quads mod so its only one offspring for her. This is little Avery.

They decide to keep one of Sandy's pups, Scooter, and put the rest up for adoption.

Ash still checks in on the salon from time to time. (In other words there are still some townies out there with unflattering haircuts.)

Crap. I put Mary Lou on birth control right after Avery was born since they only have two bedrooms. I put the risky % back to default again. Surprise babies are ok, but I've been getting an awful lot of them.

The good news is she is a great Mom.

Sawyer works hard to do his part too.

Luckily baby #2 is also a girl. She has awesome green eyes and her name is Brooklyn.

Ash hired a maid just so he could hit on her.

After two children Mary Lou finally decides its time to tie the knot.

Sawyer couldn't have cared either way, but he looks pretty happy to me.

I'm sure Ash is thinking "you poor bugger."

Scooter grew up looking like a true mutt.

Brooklyn grew up too.

I have a feeling Scooter will be getting a lot of attention from the girls.

You can adjust the length of a puppy's lifestate with insim, but I have baby animals so rarely and they're so darned cute that I don't tend to mind. XD

Yeah, I can adjust them through a mod I have that changes my sims ages too. I'd rather let puppies be puppies for as long as they can though, it builds the anticipation of finding out what they're going to look like. :) And I love the interactions for puppies.

I'm not sure where she gets those from, but it makes you just want to pinch them!
